London 21/10/09 – We are pleased to announce the merger of two of London’s leading salad bar chains (Salad Factory and Salade) which will now be known as Salad Factory (Holdings) Ltd. The merged chain will continue to trade as Salad Factory and become London’s largest chain of branded salad bars, with its focus on providing consumers and businesses (through its corporate catering division) the really healthy alternative to everyday eating.
Salad Factory will continue to trade from prominent London locations including Chancery Lane, Worship Street, Liverpool Street, Fetter Lane, Old Bailey, Paddington Station and the soon to be opening Canary Wharf with a few more exciting locations to be announced in 2010.
The exciting merger sees the bringing together of the young entrepreneurial founder of The Salad Factory (Alex Smith) and well known and respected City serial retail and healthcare entrepreneur Karim Lalani (who was the co-founder of Europa which successfully sold to Tesco in [1997] and who is currently director of Whistlestops and the 99pence discount stores. Mark Hirschfield (formerly a well regarded entrepreneurial lawyer of leading law firm Mishcon de Reya) and director of a number of successful property and internet businesses is also involved in the fast growing merged retail chain.
